One assumes you mean the media term Lady Lindy- it is easy to explain (Lindy) honored (? as the term was even extended to a popular dance) the aviator Charles Lindbergh who made the epoch-making New York to Paris Flight in l927 ( Spirit of St.Louis NX-2ll) There are some who still claim the flight was a fictated Newspaper stunt. As Amelia Earhart was, after all the first Aviatrix to fly the Atlantic the nickname Lady Lindy seems downright obvious. she may have had other nicknames like the (Flat Top) or ( Flatsy) which were derisive about her physical construct. of course flat top is an acceptable term for an Aircraft Carrier -USN usage. but something else is implied- she was (Flat on top). quite the opposite of, say Jayne Mansfield who was nicknamed the (Cow). for obvious reasons, either feast or famine on the top line.
