It appears that Charles Bradley Templeton also had a big influence on Billy Graham's career as a preacher. After meeting at a Christian youth rally in Chicago, they co-founded Youth for Christ International. Templeton and Graham toured together as a team filling stadiums with crowds of up to 30,000.

Later Templeton and Graham parted ways, although remaining friends. Templeton decided to study theology at Princeton Theological Seminary and asked Graham to join him, but Graham said this would be too embarrassing for him. By studying theology and gaining a real understanding of his faith, Templeton reached the point that he could no longer be a believer.
