Bob Marley and the Wailers were a Jamaican reggae band formed in 1963. The music and songs they played had pulsating beats and mesmerizing lyrics, covering issues as slavery, social injustices and poverty. Their music, still today gives voice to political and cultural issues in their homeland Jamaica and around he world. Bob Marley is also recognised as the man who introduced reggae music to the world, exporting it from his home-country Jamaica. When you hear reggae music today the association with Jamaica is undeniable.
