He was great during wartime; he was able to boost the morale of the British people and make them truly believe they were going to win (which they did!) However, towards the end of the war when the coalition gov. was formed, his idea that the coalition gov. shoulc continue even though the war in Europe was over (he wanted to continue it until Japan were defeated) made people realise he was obsessed with war. He was great during wartime; his ability to lead during peacetime, however, was questionable.
