Simon de Montfort led a rebellion meant to impose reforms on King Henry III. In 1264 he captured the king in battle and forced him to submit to rule by council, or parliament as it was beginning to be known. Montfort later summoned another parliament that included representation by townsfolk, an innovation adopted by the man who killed him in battle, Henry's son Edward (I).
Robert Aske helped to lead the 'Pilgrimage of the Grace' rebellion against Henry VIII's religious reforms. Aske was invited to court to talk to the King and privy council, they then lied to him and said that his demands would be met and pardons would be issued. When Aske returned to the North he was arrested alongside other rebel leaders and people who had been involved. Aske was then hung in chains from York minster.
Basically, the church was weakened because in the reforms they then used royal courts instead of church courts. Also, feudal lords because the royal courts were strengthened by Henry's reforms at the expense of the feudal lords.
