Canadians helped the home front by taking all the jobs in the community and running it themselves. Women and others farmed, cleaned, and did all of the necessities that needed to be done to keep their communities running.

By the end of the first day the Canadians owned a front about 7 miles wide and 8 miles into ( previously )occupied territory. One of the most successful parts of the invasion.
A second front was invented when the Russians wanted Germany to divide into two and come from different directions when invading the British, Americans and Canadians. If Germany didn't do this than they would be attached unopposed.
