Power and telephone lines were down in Port Hedland. Roofs were torn off homes and fences were destroyed. Trees were uprooted and at least one home was destroyed. The Bureau of Meteorology's Port Hedland weather radar was damaged and was offline for nearly a day. Schools and businesses were damaged.

Three people were killed and twenty-eight others were injured at a Fortescue Metals Group camp when strong winds knocked over temporary accommodation shelters known as dongas.

Well what I know is that the cost of the damage was 475.1million CAD (for currency exchange visit http://www.xe.com/ucc) that's got to effect the government because it most likely completely drained the governments money! Government=economy

very bad there was trees ripped out of the ground and their was houses totally destroyed. the environment was also badly affected and will take years to get better
