Type your answer here... Please double check me on this, but I believe Eisenhower developed the Interstate road system. I also believe he required that all interstate roads have several straight sections in the event a disabled aircraft had to force land on the Interstate roardway.

∙ 12y agoAs ayoung man Eisenhower traveled coast to coast on an American highway and thought the system could be better. Later in World War two he realized just how important a good highway system was to defense. So as president he worked with congress to authorize funding for the interstate highway system we enjoy today.
