Type your answer here... Please double check me on this, but I believe Eisenhower developed the Interstate road system. I also believe he required that all interstate roads have several straight sections in the event a disabled aircraft had to force land on the Interstate roardway.

As ayoung man Eisenhower traveled coast to coast on an American highway and thought the system could be better. Later in World War two he realized just how important a good highway system was to defense. So as president he worked with congress to authorize funding for the interstate highway system we enjoy today.
