He has not come out in favor of gay marriage. I do not think he favors a return to law that criminalizes private homosexual relations between consenting adults.
Most likely because he is from a conservative background, and must conform to his conservative party, family, and friends. The Republican community generally feels very strongly about opposition to gay rights.
During his presidency, President George W. Bush, made it clear that he did not believe in marriage equality for gay people. But as of 2013, he has not been asked that question again, so his current opinion is unknown.
No. He was against homosexuality.

political george bush (the gay wanker) has invaded nearly the whole world.
You could defend gay rights by explaining that it is not a choice and that (if you're a Christian) God wanted you to be different from everyone else. You could say that you feel offended when you are called insulting names and that you don't appreciate it. Of course, it depends on what is meant by "gay rights." You can counter with the question of "What rights would you deny to gay people, and why?" In fact, LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) people aren't asking for any special rights -- just those we share with the rest of humanity, including "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."
Barbara Pierce Bush, the daughter of President George W. Bush, is straight and has not publicly identified with any other sexual orientation.
gay rights are positive rights.
