How did Greeks start believing in Poseidon?
The Greeks starting to belive in Poseidon because he was the only way to explain the way that the waves acted to the people.
The Greek gods were a way for the ancient Greeks to explain what was happening in the world. for example the Greeks thought that the sea god Poseidon (Roman: Neptune) was the god of water. when there was earthquakes, the Greeks thought that Poseidon was crashing the water into the land and so they called him "earth shaker"
He was originally on the Greeks side. He and the other gods tried to over throw Zeus. He was caught, but escaped. For Poseidon's and Ares punishment, they were forced to 1 year of labor to the Trojans. The king promised to pay them much money, but refused after their labor. Poseidon then sided with the Greeks and sent a vicious sea monster on the Trojans.
