Allow me, sir metal came to have a bad name from a few black metal bands in Norway. The bands Mayhem, Burzum and later, Gorgoroth. ALl three have at least one big scandal that had everyone raving about Satanism.
Mayhem - THeir vocalist killed himself. This is not surprising, his name was in fact Dead. Their guitarist Euronymous found Dead, dead from slit wrists and a shotgun round to the head. THere was a note, "Excuse all the blood" as well as an apology for firing a gun indoors. Euronymous went to the store bought a disposable camera and took pictures. One of these pictures was used as the album cover of one of their well known bootleg albums which escapes me now.
Burzum - The man whos solo project was Burzum, the great, Varg Vikernes, is in prison now for the murder of Mayhem guitarist Euronymous, as well as the arson off 8 Catholic churches.
Gorgoroth - Did a show in a largely Christian country which consisted of about 25 sheep's heads on stakes lining the front of the stage, as well as their carcasses strewn around everywhere, as well as 4 crosses with live humans strapped to them naked, 2 male and 2 female. They did it as a direct attack on Christianity. It worked :D
These are three reasons why metal has a bad name today. The other reasons all center around Tipper Gore and censorship.
No.I have listened to heavy metal since 1967(Jimi hendrix) and it has not affected me.
Nope. But then this is an opinion question.
No, not at all. Only people are bad or evil.
skrillex is NOT heavy metal and god how I wish there wasn't a bad language filter
no not really not classic metal like Dio but maybe some bad emo band
No there not, The my are a heavy metal bad, not a screamo band. Some screamo band are satanic, not metal.
Sir Lord Baltimore (the band for which the name "Heavy Metal" was coined, Pentagram, and Cirith Ungol.
"How do teeth respond to heavy metal music?" "How do teeth respond to heavy metal metal?" "How do metal respond heavy metal metal metal?" "How Heavy do metal metal metal metal metal?" "Heavy do metal metal heavy metal teeth metal?" "How do teeth respond to acid/alkali?"

There's an Alt. Rock (not Heavy Metal) band by the name of the White Stripes with an album by that name, and that's probably the one you'd be thinking of. As far as actual Heavy Metal bands go, there was a relatively obscure band out of Austria called Break Point, which released an album called Elephants in 1987. PS. White stripes are NOT heavy metal at all.
