Thomas More was killed because he opposed the king on the matter of royal divorce, and refused to swear the Oath of Supremacy which declared the king the head of the Church in England. He was martyred for his refusal to bend his religious beliefs to the king‘s political needs.
He helped with the reformation of the church of England. Henry also wrote a stinging attack in Luther's Ideas. In recognition the pope gave him the title of "Defender of the Faith". Later political needs, however, soon tested his religious loyalty, He needed a Heir, a male Heir. Henry's father had become a king after a long civil war. He feared that a similar war would start if he died without a son as his Heir. Henry and his wife Catherine of Aragon, had a living child but not a son, a daughter, Mary, but no woman at the time had ever successfully claimed the English throne

Religious leaders have enough experience with community services which could serve as their primary knowledge about people's needs. Admitting that it wouldn't compare to other politician's credibility, if we really think about it.. countries thriving in corruption doesn't necessarily need intellectual leaders.. but leaders with a strong moral character; built with dedication and honesty. A religious leader is a man for other people. It might work if he is also a political leader for the people. Not like many politicians.. who are only for themselves.
It seems to me that religious education is not designed or intended to help with basic needs.
Faith based initiatives--money goes directly from the government to religious organizations; politicians promise religious constituents that they will help promote their political agendas in return for votes--and they do such as taking sides in the abortion debate.

In reality, political machines rarely responded to the needs of the people. When they did, it was usually for dishonest gain.
Understanding and meeting urgency needs of customers is part of the relationship building process. If you build rapport with customers you are encouraging customer loyalty. Loyal customers are those with whom you have built relationships based on trust, honesty, reliability and the provision of product/service delivery that meets the customer's needs.
