Both Hilary Duff and her sister Haylie used to live on a wide range of land in San Antonio, Texas. One day the filming for the movie True Women came into town. The directors asked Hilary and Haylie's dad, Bob Duff, if they could use their land for filming since it was very big and had a lot of history. Bob answered sure as long as they gave his two daughters a part in the movie. The Duff sisters loved acting from then on out. They began booking commercials and Hilary booked a made for TV movie called Casper Meets Wendy. Later on Hilary booked a TV show titled Daddy-O but was fired from it because the directors didn't think she could act good enough. A little later on down the road Hilary was asked to audition for the main character in a TV show called Lizzie McGuire. At first Hilary refused, but soon gave in. She got the role after many auditions. The directors of this TV show had to call in a man named Troy to give Hilary acting lessons. Once Hilary got the hang of acting the show became a big hit. She is now making guest star appearances on different TV shows such as Raising Hope and Two and a Half Men.
