Maureen is engrossed in the film 'Stab' and fails to notice that her boyfriend Phil Stevens has been replaced by his killer.
The cinema is pandemonium, with lots of people wearing the ghostface masks and fake knives all pretending to stab each other.
This means that the killer can blend in quite nicely and stab Maureen several times when she notices that he is covered in blood. He stabs her a few times in the aisle (sounds painful) and she staggers up to the front of the screen before letting out a blood curdling wail and falling down dead.
Most of the audience look on amazed, but fail to do anything - thinking that this is all a publicity stunt by the movie studio.
