God communicated to the prophet Abraham. Judaism started with Abraham. Abraham was told to cast out his older son Ishmael that had been born out of wedlock, and his son Isaac who was born in marriage became Abraham's only heir from then on. Jacob became the heir of Isaac and his family moved to Israel because it was land that had been promised to Abraham and his descendants.
The first Christians were Jewish.
"Jewish" is an adjective describing one's ethnicity, religion, etc. You can't really pluralize an adjective.
To be Jewish can mean you either practice the Jewish religion, or are from a Jewish decent. It is both a race and a religion. Someone that is culturally Jewish may not practice the religion, but has a Jewish heritage. Likewise, people that do practice the Jewish religion do not have to be culturally Jewish, or have Jewish ancestors.
There aren't areas of the Jewish religion.
