I'm not good with the spelling of ancient Egyptian names, but I will try to get this right. Excuse my poor spelling if I do not succeed. King Tut was born TutAnkAten which means "living image of Aten." Aten was the sun god of Tut's father Akasenaten. This was probably the first known monotheism. Akasenaten died, leaving 7-year-old Tut the throne. The people of Egypt pressured him into restoring the old religion, a polytheism, where the main god was Amun. His new name was Tutankamun or "Living image of Amun."
