The 9 people that were killed in August 1969 Manson did not kill them with his own hands. He ordered several of his "family" members to carry out the murders for him. Like idiots they did it.

∙ 14y agoManson is a master manipulator. He used several different mind control techniques on the members of his 'family'. As much as they all said how "Charlie is love" and "Charlie is beautiful" they were afraid of Manson, and with good reason. He would beat the young women terrorize the men, and withhold the young children from their parents to keep them in line.
He used mind altering drugs for further control. He and he alone decided who would take what drugs and how much. He controled their sex lives. It was all under his control.
Manson was big on repetition. The 'family' members were subjected to his stories over and over again. He knew how to drill in a point. And if you were smart you would not offer your own opinion. Smile and agree. That was the best way to stay alive.
So here you have young people, mostly women, that have taken or given mind altering drugs, fear for your life, and fear for the life of your young child.
When you put all these together it's not hard to imagine how these middle-class kids lost themselves.

∙ 11y agoThe August 1969 Tate-La Biana murders occured in Bel Air and Los Feliz, both Los Angeles neighborhoods for the wealthy. These victims were not actually killed by Manson himself, but by his brainwashed 'family' members. Manson also ordered the killing of music teacher Gary Hinman. With the case of John 'Shorty' Shea, it is still unclear who it was that actually killed him.
It is believed that there are many more victims of Manson and his gang of miscreants and there have been recent searches in the hope that other bodies will be found. It is useless to ask Manson himself since he rarely ever makes sense.

Melcher, a record producer and son of Doris Day, had no interest in Manson's music, which infuriated Charlie. So when Manson decided it was time for 'Helter Skelter' he picked an address he knew. On the next night at the home of Leno and Rosemary LaBianca, Manson picked the house of the next victims. This also was not completely random. Manson had visited a nearby home (reason unknown) so he was familiar with the neighborhood. So it was really more the addresses than the people that came to mind when he set his plan in action.
