Muslims reject the trinity because they believe that we must believe in only one God, and the worship of three gods is polytheistic, even if it is one God in three persons. The Qur'an criticizes Christianity's belief in the trinity multiple times. Was Mohammed the founder of Islam's rejection of the trinity? Probably, seeing as Mohammed founded Islam and has his views on issues recorded in the Qur'an.

Are Jehovah's witnesses Trinitarian?

No. According to the Watchtower magazine (the defintive source of JW theology) JWs regard the Trinity as the work of the devil. They therefore regard the rest of the Christian Church, who regards the Trinity as sacred and revealed by the Holy Spirit in scripture, as either deluded, mistaken, misguided by or even in cahoots with, Satan.

What doctrine became the centerpiece of Christian faith and preaching?

There are several 'doctrines' depending upon the branch of 'Christianity' one professes. For example same claim the Resurrection is central while others the Trinity concept - arguably the former is key while the latter is not nearly as clear per the Bible and is unsupported in Scripture.Millard Erickson, research professor of theology at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary wrote that the Trinity "is not clearly or explicitly taught anywhere in the Scripture (Bible), yet it is widely regarded as a central doctrine, indispensable to the Christian faith. In this regard, it goes contrary to what is virtually an axiom of biblical doctrine, namely, that there is a direct correlation between the scriptural clarity of a doctrine and the cruciality to the faith and life of the church."In view of the difficulty of the subject and the great amount of effort expended to maintain this doctrine, we may well ask ourselves what might justify all this trouble" (God in Three Persons: A Contemporary Interpretation of the Trinity, 1995, p.12).

Why is Jesus not God in the flesh according to Jehovah Witnesses?

Jehovah Witnesses reject the doctrine of the Holy Trinity, declaring it unsupported by the scriptures (which is true). They regard Jesus as inferior to Jehovah, but nevertheless divine.

What do baptists believe about trinity?

Baptists, along with Methodists, Anglicans, Roman Catholics and all the other orthodox Christian Churches believe that the Trinity represents a single God in Three persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, as described in Scripture (just one example - the end of Matthew's Gospel). Three persons - yet one God, as outlined by Athanasius in the famous Athanasian Creed (q.v.) Thus Baptists, along with all the other Christian denominations, regard Jesus as divine and the manifestation of God in human form. This is contrary to pseudo-Christian sects such as the jehovah's witnesses, as one example, who regard the Trinity with contempt, and, although accepting Jesus as the 'Son of God' (whatever that means) deny his divinity.

The trinity is kind of like an egg. There is a shell, white, and a yolk , but the egg is still one. The trinity is the Father,Son and Holy Spirit. It is difficult to wrap your mind around this fact , but as you grow as a chrisitian you will understand it a little better.

Why do the Watchtower misrepresent the trinity doctrine?

The Watchtower generally directly quotes official sources with regard to the definition of the trinity. Like all individuals, Jehovah's Witnesses reserve the right to voice their understanding of those official sources as they see fit. There exists an abundance of documentation on the trinity. Those wishing to learn about it do well NOT to go to a strictly non-trinitarian source for an explanation. The Watchtower magazine's primary objective is to explain bible truths as they see it, those not agreeing with its conclusions as to their understanding are free to reject its conclusions and seek enlightenment elsewhere. For further details see RELATED LINKS below
