they translated thousands of Greek manuscripts into Arabic. This is the only reason we have a good chunk of the Greek writings that we do have. For comparison, the Christians would rip the greek books apart for their paper and write prayers on them. OH HOW TIMES HAVE CHANGED!

∙ 8y agoIslam is not against classical learnings. Works of past masters of classics were especially translated into Arabic by the Muslims. They are taught in Muslims Educational Institutions. Anyhow, sculpture, making of idols and portraits is not allowed in Islam, lest it should encourage idol worship.
