the native Americans had to choose between side in this war. Who they sided with was really based on 2 things, One was who they thought was going to win and the other was who they thought would give them the most land/privlages in the new world (even though they had been there for longer thatn we know). Now most native Americans sided with the British, but some sided with the reblion. Now there were a very fortunate few who choose to be netural. The native Americans were great help to the Indians they knew the land. When they forst recuted them they just sent them on missions. The missions were to wipe out citys in the way that would be hard for the British to take out. But the british forgot about how Americans can spin things. So when the Indians eligedly killed a white woman they portrayed them as being compleatly ruthless and this upset everyone and really helped out the rebel cause. even though the native Americans new the terrain there were people in the colinal army new the land to. So this is how the American Indians adapted

The settlers had a very hard time adapting, when first settled in Jamestown, and there settlement in North Carolina is known as "The Lost Colony" because they could not settle and work. English men were not used to working and farming and living off the land therefore they had to learn how to work, that normally takes many years for new society's to learn. Luckily they learnt how to become friends with certain tribes such as the Powhatan's. They showed the settlers how to farm and fish, and build homes. Also the settlers learnt you cant dispose of waist in the James River, when they stopped doing that it cut down on disease's.

Native Americans adapted to their enviorment just how we do.

It usually depends on were u like. Some tribes of Native Americans that live in harsh cold weather they build igloos, which snow and ice which is an insulator.

They also find animals they can feast on, and they use every part of an animal, which they use there fur and skins to keep them warm.

But if they live in the dessert they build house out of sticks, clay, mud, and earth ground materials. They would eat animals from the dessert, and some plant life, they would find cactuses and open them up with sharp rocks or fresh bones from animals, and put the water from a cactuses in a bowl and can drink it for water. But they usally find a river or a stream of fresh water and make iragation's (which is manmade lil streams) to there tirbe.

Settlers adapted to living in North America by learning from the Native Americans. They were encouraged to grow certain types of food and to hunt specific animals in order to survive.
