The Great Depression affected Russia in many different ways, the biggest affect was famine. As famine began to spread, people began to die off families ate their deceased children as a survival technique. Stalin was the ruler at this time, he created he 5 year plan which was supposed to reform Russia, but actually set it back a few years. Stalin would send out grain relief plans for every region except Ukraine. In doing so Ukraine's population decreased by 20% within just a few years. Overall the Great Depression really had nothing to do with the failures in Russia.
