Well, see, what had happened was when Santa was walking through the forest he hit this tree. Then Dasher, yeah the one from the song, was walking by and found Santa out cold. He carried him to the reindeer herd and healed him until he was well. But, the herd of reindeer were starving and could not offer much. So, Santa offered them a job as his sleigh carriers in return for food. At, least that's what i heard.
