AnswerV ery little I'm afraid. Taoism is mostlly a philosophy. China's government allows very little that is not adjunct or supportive to the government.

Actually, Daoism, while not improving the government system, had a large effect on the people of China simply because they were Daoist, and focused on bettering themselves and becoming one with nature, taking away from the government and social system. Imagine if the majority of the United States one day just detached themselves from society and tried to make themselves one with nature. There would be failure in the government and social system.

Taoism teaches about man's relationship with nature, while Confucianism teaches about man's relationship with his fellow man.
