They affected it positively, because we wouldn't know what we know today! We wouldn't know that DNA is like a spiral staircase and how it works with the complementary base pairs.
Well, it can positively effect some countries by making products more readily available at a cheaper cost due to it not costing as much to get the product to the country. It can also create job opportunities in developing countries. It can negatively affect countries by removing job opportunities that might have been available there had the product been produced in that country instead of outsourcing to another country.
I would say that mountains negatively affect the development of a region or a nation because they isolate countries or cut off areas. And as for a positive geographic feature affect of a region or a nation; lakes. They produce fertile soil, irrigation systems, healthy environment to start a civilization or develop a region.
Things like Vegetarianism and Vegan and all that can affect the diet negatively and positively. Negatively because their not getting the nutrients from the meat such as protein and vitamin b12. Positively because they're possibly not eating as much fat as they would if they ate meat. Believe it or not, you actually need some callories in your diet, not to many calories, but a balanced amount.
