It is not so much that he 'wanted to' compose Music. Mozart was a child prodigy,

he was COMPELLed to compose, and get the music down as he heard it.

It is reported he wrote his "Twinkle, Twinkle Little star" melody at age 5.

Leopold Mozart always cherished and was astonished by the standard of the incredible compositions Wolfgang developed; Leopold was not always happy with his son on the other hand with rumors of him and Constanze messing around bringing shame to the family name. His extreme cockiness was also a reason of dislike towards the ingenious fellow but altogether he was overly pleased with his son ( as most people would be )

Specifically, he had the impression that his son was a good person morally with slightly odd behavioral tendencies. Perhaps his tax-evading behaviors led to his father losing hope in his behavior, but then again Mozart was a bit of a transcendentalist and saw taxes as unnecessary to lead a moral life. Today he would be classified as a liberal, a smart liberal who was loved by his father. The coercive means of the government at the time perhaps led other thinkers to invent socialist philosophies after seeing what good can come out of a borderline lunatic tax-evader.

His father was a very famous violinist and encouraged him towards music. When Mozart's talent was unleashed, his father kept him going and pushed him. Without his father, he would have not been as famous as he is today.

Well, the same that made other composers the composers. Mozart enjoyed writing music, and it inspired him to make a career out of it. His passion for music got him where he is today; a dead man with his name on history. In other words, one of the most famous and recognized people in time.
