How did World War 2 come about?

when world war one ended germany was forced to give up land and banned from having armed forces. soon after in the late 1930's germany voted adolf hitler ruler. he lead am army to invade poland and because he refused to abort the invasion britian and france declared war on germany.

When WW1 ended, because Germany was the only enemy left standing, the Allies wanted to inflict punishment on them. The real cause of WW1 was Russian mobilization against the Austrian-Hungarian empire in response to them going after Gabriel Princip of the Black Hand for the assassination of the Archduke.

The treaty of Versailles was very harsh towards Germany. The same occurred to the Japanese with the Treaty of Washington signed in 1926 to prevent an arms race in the navies of the world. It imposed financial penalties which were paid off this year finally and caused Germany to lose land such as Alsace-Lorriane and it helped to create Poland as well.

Germany wanted that land back as it needed what it called Living space or Liebenstreum. Germany started to re-arm in the 30's under Hitler and the West knew about as he was even creating work camps such as Dachau and Birchenwald. The most famous of them was not created until 1940.

Adolf Hitler wanted to re-take the lands that he felt Germany lost unfairly as a result of the treaty of Versailles. Neville Chamberlain appeased him as he invaded Yugoslavia in 1938 unopposed. He decided that he wanted to re-take Poland which he did. He first had to justify the invasion which he did with Operation Canned Goods where he set up a fake invasion from Poland and thus under International Law he could respond in force.

Neville Chamberlain gave Hitler until noon on September 3rd to get out of Poland or face war with France and England. No British or French Forces showed up until September 28th at which point Poland fell. The Battle of the Atlantic was the only battle to last the entirety of the war.

The Pacific War is a little more complicated as it involves a struggle within the Japanese military over expansion into other countries to get natural resources. They first invaded Manchuria in 1938 and it led to the infamous rape of Nanking. As they expanded their reaches it got to the point where the expansion was threatening Australia which is key ally to the US.

The Japanese knew that unless they could take out the US they would be destroyed by them. That is why the attack on Pearl Harbor was planned. They wanted to take out the aircraft carriers but none were in port and that attack was not the success the Japanese had hoped for. For one they failed to take out the tank farm and if they did that then the war in the Pacific would have been done as the Americans would have out of it for at least 6 months to a year.

The basic causes of both the European and Pacific Campaign was a need for expansion and anger towards the West over mistreatment and unfair restrictions. The funny thing is that had Hitler waited until 1945 he would have won the war in 6 months.
