It didn't come to the US. By the time that 3/4 of Europe was dead with it and the age of exploration had begun it had faded out. Think of the time span. Columbus arrives in Hispaniola in 1492 and in the 1500's the Spanish explore the mainland of what is now the US, but the first English colony isn't established until 1607 and the American revolution doesn't begin until 1776. The US is not established as a nation with a constitution until 1787. The last bout of the plague was in the late 1347-1350. So, you have over 250 years difference in the time line. The plague still does exist and I was surprised to learn the other day about 3,000 people still die a year of it. There still is no cure.
