Concentration camps were mean. The prisoners had to sleep on hard wooden bunks. They had insufficient food and were basically treated like slaves.
From what I've learned, they were transported to concentration camps in cattle cars on trains. It was a long trip, and they did not stop to use the restroom ...
Once there, they would be split into two groups, one group the weaker (e.g. women, children, elderly, sick, etc.) and unfit to work. They were often killed. The stronger group would be stripped of their clothes, shaved, and they no longer had a name. They had a number.
They were starved, overworked, there was lice, the living conditions were horrendous! Often more people died of exhaustion, hunger, or disease than being gassed. Once people were dead, their bodies were buried or the Germans tried to destroy the evidence.
Those who survived concentration camps are amazing. It is unimaginable doing this to humans, but even more so to survive that.
Closer to Hell than any Jew, gypsy, Nazi, or different nationality had ever seen. The rations were sparse, if any some days. The warehouses were stuffed with bunks stacked high. Lice crawled through the camp and they worked ridiculous hours.
There are no verifiable pictures to indicate the exact conditions that existed inside retainment camps, as the Allies destroyed literally tons of documents and other evidence in order to shape public opinion in support of the Allied invasion. Most likely, there would have been several buildings which housed inmates. There likely would have been other facilities in which inmates worked on various projects. There has been no verifiable data or evidence to indicate that any gas chambers existed or were used for mass extermination. This is why I hesitate to use the words "concentration camp" as this tends to indicate a death camp; but however, evidence seems to suggest that the Germans had retainment camps, not death camps, just like the U.S. also had during the war to retain Japanese Americans of the time.
Another view
There is ample evidence, anecdotal, documented and eyewitness to show the condition that existed in the camps. The name people use for these camps reflects what happened in them. The name given to them by those that ordered them built and who subsequently managed them was the Propaganda.
Most concentration camps were from Old Military barracks. So an average concentration camps would look like a Military base but with Gas Chambers, Piles or Pit full of dead bodies.
they were very mean to the Jews and instead of concentration camps they were like death camps because in some it was a test and if you didn't pass you would take a shower and it was gas that would poison you and you would die in 2 or 3 mins.
hitle didnt want Jews even though he was 11%. Hitler would do these absolutely terrifying tests on the Jews. for example he would try to put chemicals in them to make their eyes blue. if you died adolf would burn the body. also he would make you take off your clothes and get into a room. then when everyone is in, they put acid to burn you. next he would kill the old people. they were useless to him so he killed them. sometimes the Jews could pay for their freedom but that was rare. he absolutely tortured them.
well they were very cramped and they puut gas in them to kill the Jewish and black people...........................................
Okay so I am not so sure about this answer if it is wrong or write but so the Consantration camps were camps(not the fun camps) that I think they had horrible ways to kill the Jews. I think one was that they would get a lot of Jews and turn them on fire or they would do just, horrible things but mine is when Hitler was around but to learn more you can watch "The Pianist" or read a book called "Ann Frank".
They were long, one-roomed buildings, usually made out of brick or wood. They have triangular roofs(as usual)
They looked very bad
Nazi leaders like Adolph Hitler.
Adolf Hitler was a dictator. He didn't know he was, but other people tried to tell him and if they did he'd send them to death camps to be murdered in the gas chambers. Then when he looked him, his wife, and his loved German Shepard dog, Blondie, inside a bunker and it is said he killed himself. By Lauren M
They technically weren't called "torture camps", they were called "concentration camps" and its was where Jewish men and women were tooken and the women had to cut their hair really short like men and had to wear ragged old clothes.-Shelby Warfield,IN
concentration camps are prisons in a sense where as extermination camps are like death row u will certainly die in a extermination camp.
There were no concentration camps in Britain. There's some confusion here.
He was the leader of the Nazis and was a bad man Adolf Hitler was a Nazi leader in Germany. He was known for creating concentration camps for Jewish people. He was an evil man that did not like people that were different than him.

It was not indians that were in concentration camps. However during world war 2 the nazis under order of hitler took jewish people and captured them unwillingly into the concentration camps.
Hitler was very racist and did not like Jews or people of darker skin. he made various concentration and extermination camps around Europe.
Like as in good Adolf Hitler, he wanted to make Germany as a non poverty country.Like as in bad Adolf Hitler, well he didn't need to kill that much Jews by sending them to the concentration camps!! Just because most of the Jews were rich and the Germans,at that time, were poor, and was believed that the Jews had ruined the German economy.
Hitler was not with gays. He believed that all homosexuals should be treated like jews. They were sent to concentration camps just like them. Personally, I don't care if your gay or not... but okay.
adolf Hitler has very troubled childhood. his father was very cruel.
