Brontosaurus is an invalid name for Apatosaurus excelsus. Because it was so large, adult Apatosaurus probably only lifted one foot at a time, and thus walked slowly compared to its enormous size. However, very young Apatosaurus were capable of fleeing predators by running bipedally, similar to a basilisk.
