Abraham agreed, and G-d then told him to journey far from his home, and to find the 'promised land'. So Abraham set forth and trusted G-d. Later, this covenant was strengthened when G-d spoke to Moses, at Mt Sinai, before millions of Jews. This was the 'official' start of Judaism.
