Increase in population reduced hunting animals. For example only 50 hunting groups started their life in Gedrosia (Baluchistan province of Pakistan) at Mehrgarh in 8000 BC. Farming and hunting went side by side initially.
before their way of life was hunting and fishing but when time comes that their population is increasing they realized that their sources of food cannot sustain them all. On that reason they make an alternatives until they discovered that farming can sustain their needs.

Majority of the people in the renaissance period would have been making their living by farming. The man took care of the farming and the women take care of poultry.
Farming was the first peaceful way to survive and I suppose if you had meat all the time you died younger and become a dullard with all that bad cholesterol.I also remember healing herbs cross over into farming also.
Early man depended on hunting because it was there only food source. They didn't know how to plant and the animals had all the nutrition they needed. If they could hunt them, they did. They really had no other option for food. Farming and agriculture had not yet been discovered, so all these early humans could do was follow the animals where ever it is that they might go and to gather fruits and berries along the way. We call these people, hunter-gatherers.
