Carson C. Peck was a Vice President & Treasurer of the F.W. Woolworth Company. He was also the owner of the Brooklyn Daily Times and President of the Wiscasset, Waterville & Farmington Railroad located in Maine. He studied for a year at St. Lawrence University then went to work as a clerk at a dry goods store (A. Bushnell & Co.) in Watertown, NY. Another employee at the store was Frank W. Woolworth who conceived the idea of the 5 and 10 cent store. He tried the concept in several small cities. Carson Peck became the the manager of the Woolworth store in Utica, New York. He was later brought to New York by Mr. Woolworth to be VP & Treasurer. Peck was born on a farm in Stone Mills, Jefferson County, NY in 1858 and died at 57 years old at his Brooklyn New York home, 381 Clinton Avenue.
