Turkey of course!
to help to take over gallipoli and then to defend it also gallipoli is in turkey
Yes Australia was needed. The ill-advised assault on Gallipoli ended in defeat, thus achieving none of its objectives. In fact, it strengthened the position of the Germans by bring Turkey into the war on the German side. Without the joint Australia and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) the allied defeat at Gallipoli would have occurred sooner. To that extent, Australia was needed. But the decision to attack Turkey was ill-advised, and the attack poorly planned and, in some ways, poorly executed.

Because our trupos went to war and fight for us
The reason Australia was involved in the Gallipoli campaign was because as a member of the british empire it was Australia's duty to help out in this time of need.
Gallipoli was a battle in WW1 that was taken part in by Australia...
it hurt them
the point of what happened in gallipoli was for Australia and New Zealand to conquour part of Gallipoli and taking out the guns based on the river.
The Turkish army
Although popular belief is that Gallipoli is better than Kokoda, many like me and lachy and Amelia disagree. Gallipoli was half way across the globe and kokoda was much closer to home and Australia and an imminent invasion threat. Gallipoli was also a stupid failure while kokoda was a legend. As i like to say Gallipoli made Australia, Kokoda saved Australia. Cam xoxo Gossip girl <3
