You can have a brain freeze by just being in a small environment.
- You are warmed up. Let's say you were running outside in the cold.
- You heat up gradually
- You inhale cold air through you mouth. If u are tiered, most likely you exhale it through your mouth.
- This acts like a cold cream in a hot day. The top of your mouth is HOT but it is subjected in cold air.
- This triggers the the nerve above your mouth signaling the brain that its COLD.
- Blood vessels then get bigger to warm it up and you get the headache.
How to get rid of it in such situation:
- INHALE from MOUTH, but EXHALE from NOSE --- exhalation = to warm air(CO2 and H2O vapor)
- By doing this you eliminate the cold feeling--- you make the circumstances balanced.

Can a brain freeze cause health problems?
I haven't never heard of anything serious relating to brain freezes. That's really just a name for it, your brain doesn't actually freeze. When you eat ice cream or drink something cold your tongue can push it toward the roof of your mouth, there is a nerve that is located there that is sensitive to cold. Next time you eat something cold just try to steer it away from the roof of your mouth.

No. Cows don't get brain freeze when they graze frosty grass. If anything, it just helps them get a little more water because of the frost crystals on the fodder.
