Why did jormungandr kill thor?
There's a long standing rivalry between Jormungandr and Thor. They really got off on the wrong foot on thier first encounter when Utgard-Loki disguised Jormungandr as a cat and got Thor to lift it. Thor didn't really help things when he encountered Jormungandr for the second time while he and Hymir were fishing, he killed Hymir's favourite bull and used its head for bait and guess what he caught, thats right, Jormungandr, and then he tried to kill Jormungandr with Mjollnir but Hymir got his revenge for the slaying of his prize bull, he cut the line and let Jormungandr get away. Summing up, if someone picked you up when you first met you and then when you next saw him fishhooked you and tried to crack your skull with a hammer wouldn't you want to kill them?
