The Boston Tea Party:
It all began with the Townshend acts. They were taxes on lead, paint, paper, glass and tea. The colonists were outraged because of this "taxation without representation." And they weren't the only ones. British merchants were bringing complaints that the taxes were hurting their business, as well as the Colonists! So the British comprised. They repealed all but one of the taxes. The one left was the tea tax. And that didn't really matter, since most tea that the colonists drank was smuggled anyway. But it was different in 1773. Lord North, The Prime Minister of England, made a mistake. The tea that that had the tax on it was rotting in storehouses, and he wanted it to sell better. He decided that he would send ships loaded with the tea into Boston Harbor. He would put a lower price on the tea, but there was a catch. He thought that in the ecstasy of buying tea that was at a lower price than usual, the colonists would not mind that it had a tax on it. The idea seemed good to Lord North, but NOT to the Colonists. The Ship would not land!
....At least that went for the "Sons of Liberty". The band of Patriots met in a tavern in Boston. One night, during a meeting at the tavern, the Sons sent a messenger out to Governor Hutchinson, asking him to send the ship back. The messenger came back with the answer. The ship WOULD LAND!!!! Suddenly, 50 men dressed up as Mohawk Indians jumped out! They ran to Boston Harbor, making some rather unrealistic- sounding Indian war whoops on the way. The "Indians" dumped 352 chests of tea into the Harbor. That's 35,000 lbs of tea!!!!
Though there are some who dispute this Samual Adams is believed to be the instigator of the Boston Tea Party, a protest of the British tea tax.
a tea tax
Boston Tea Party
The tax was lead to the Whiskey Rebellion because at first in the people in the West were bitter from tax. They were already angry at the federal government, which they believed did not protect settlers from Native American attacks and did not allow settlers enough opportunity for trade. Farmers who produced small amounts of whiskey for trade argued that they could not afford the tax. They believed that they should be able to keep the money they made from a product they created themselves.
The Boston a Tea Party was founded on the 16th of December in 1773, to protest the tax on tea.
The final act that lead to the Tea Party was the imposition of a TAX on British Tea that was sent to America. This was "Last Straw" so to speak for the Colonists'.

Because the colonists objected to the monopoly on tea and the import duty. Because the colonists did not like Britain put a tax on tea.
The Townshend Duty Act, enacted in 1767, placed a tax on glass, lead, paint, paper, and tea imported into the colonies. Hope this helps! :)
The government helps to keep things in order, gives all people the right to vote on issues and throw away all the tax-payers money and more!!
Tax incidence refers to who actually pays the tax. Tax incidence can be divided into 1. formal incidence :the party liable to the tax 2. Informal incidence :party who actually pays the tax, The tax incidence is decided by the elasticity of demand and supply for a good or service.
