Taking "conservatism" as a general socio-economic and political force, its strengths and weaknesses are various. Just one of its strengths is its admirable commitment to conserving worthy truths, values, and customs (etc.) from the past into and even beyond the present day. Just one of its weaknesses would be a general (and in admirable) tendency to favor the materially wealthy over and above the poor and the disadvantaged in society.
