There are entire chapters of textbooks devoted to this topic. You'll need to be a lot more specific. (Alternatively, you could actually read those textbooks. For organic molecules, I recommend Organic Chemistry by Morrison and Boyd; for inorganic compounds... Inorganic Chemistry by Huheey is pretty good.)
