an ice age from a shift in the earths axis cooling south america, warming North America created a land bridge, when the ice melted the penguins stayed, thats why there are penguins on the peninsula of south america, before this ice age the race referred to as white biologically developed from the areas near the equator in north and south america (which at this time was near the conecting land mass now known as Panama) and where driven to north america during this first shift, and where supposed to move to the southern continent (south amrica) during the second shift, unfortunately during theses changes people in the eastern hemisphere began measuring the waves on the mediteranean, european coast and african coast coming to the conclusion that there was land across the ocean, a week or so sail by crude boat in calm weather these people saw the lush and fruitful land and began to coax and wrile large predators (bears, cougars, panthers, wolves, etc.) to feed on the humans from this area which had territorialy coexisted with before(referred to as white, now referred to as caucasion or european) these people unable to take the chances of close quarters survival especially at night to sleep with thier young children being a more approachable prey as the adults were very strong and capable to fight off even bears, were forced to evacuate to a safer location findig less predators in the colder areas brought them to northern eurpoe for a time. And yes the balance of nature has brought these people back! The rest of the path is up to them. almost home..

Does antarctica have penguins?

Penguins are birds, not mammals. The whale is the largest mammal in Antarctica - whales are not fish, because they are warm blooded, breath air through lungs (not gills, like fish), and they give birth to live young who feed off their mother's milk (unlike fish who either lay eggs or do not feed their young). The other mammal on Antarctica is the seal, which are larger than penguins. The penguin is not even the largest bird in Antarctica- that is the albatross.

Are penguins inhabitants of Antarctica?

They are not inhabitants in the sense that the animals 'live' in Antarctica: it's too cold to support any life. However, off the 17 species of penguin on Earth, six of them breed on Antarctic beaches, including Adelie, Chinstrap, Gentoo, Macaroni, King and Emperor Penguins.
