In both Europe and the UK they ran for the nearest place to seek shelter for protection. There were underground bunkers for the British to hide within. They also had homemade bomb shelters at family homes called Morrison Shelters and Anderson Shelters. They also fled to other places to live. They Ministry of Health sent the kids, some parents, elderly people and disabled people to live in the countryside to keep them protected from the bombs.
