They are not extinct yet, but there is a strong possibility that they will be, if we don't stop global warming. Their existence is threatened because their habitat, Arctic sea ice, is shrinking because of global warming.

Polar bears are not extinct. However, they are threatened by global warming. As sea ice melts, it becomes harder and harder for them to find food, and many are starving.
