Sir Humphry Davy got his title when he was awarded by a baronetcy in 1819. It is the highest honor given to scientists by the British government. His works include various discoveries of alkali and alkaline metals, as well as the elemental nature of chlorine and iodine.

It is not known where exactly in England sodium was discovered. It was discovered by Sir Humphrey Davy in 1807.
Sir Humphry Davy isolated the element potassium in 1807 by using electrolysis to extract it from caustic potash (potassium hydroxide).
