Southern peninsula of India is geologically more ancient than the north, the paleobotanic excavations have proved it. The biodiversity of the deccan and western ghats are also older, so is the culture. Secondly the south was less influenzed by external interventions unlike the north which saw far too many invasions and racial assimilations. This, except coasts of the south which saw relatively more intermixture. Thus the ancient temples and faith, values and culture of the south are more authentic and original. The ancient Sidha tradition of India, of ascetics, lives on in the south more so in Tamilnadu which is not as much priesthood oriented as in the north. That is, the caste based social hierarchy is less rigin in south. This is also there in the deep north and the tribal belts, who keep common attributes to this day. That is the true Hindu faith is in the south. But the south being old and mature keeps its grace and is not eager to look superior. To put it shortly it is the south that retains what is authentic India. Tip of India, the broader term, houses a unique heritage.
