Stuart Sutcliffe died of a brain haemorrhage in Hamburg on April 10th 1962 - after suffering for several years from serious migraines and apparent bouts of schizophrenic behaviour. No satisfactory diagnosis has ever been reached for his condition. At the time of his death Sutcliffe was living with Astrid Kirchherr - a German photographer and artist who was largely responsible for the Beatle's 'look' in their early days. Kirchherr had a major influence on Beatle Jackets and their choice of hairstyle.
