How did the alliances help cause world war1?

After Archduke Ferdinand and his wife were assassinated by a Serbian national, Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia. The alliance countries of each took sides and WWI began. The triple Alliance consisted of Germany, Austria-Hungary and Italy. The Triple Entente consisted of England, France, and Russia. Italy left the Triple Alliance in 1915 and joined the other side. Russia bowed out to fight the Russian Revolution. The USA joined with the Triple Entente to create the Allied Forces. Germany and Austria-Hungary joined with Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire to create the Central Powers.

it wasn't so much the germans but the assassination of franz ferdinand gave the germans an excuse to go to war as the austro hungarian army waged war on Serbia and germany backed up them up and the russians backing up the serbians and eventually each country got dragged into the war because of their alliances, creating the central powers and the triple alliance
