At first, most of America supported it. But, the war took a toll on America and the American army. Drafts upsetted parents because their children were being sent to war and a lot of soldiers were dying. The hippie movement started the "Make peace, not war" movement. Teen-agers were scared and started fleeing to Canada. The war went on for many wars and the American public just wanted peace. Some say that America could of conquered North Vietnam if they would have used better battle tactics.
