because the Native Americans lived in the Ohio River Valley which later on after the American Revolution, we Americans take over that land so therefore, the Native Americans had to move over to the Great Plains.
In the beginning they had massacres on the Native Americans and gave them treaties that they could not read forcing them west. They killed them and forced them west causing the Trail of Tears. Now they have reservations to live on.
