they would cut the chest with a knife and then reach into the cavity and take the heart out.
its a gruesome act but it was all for sacrifice.
They ad to sacrifice humans. They thought in return they should give them people. They would take out the persons heart. Usually they would use prisoners or children
The aztecs simply placed the heart in the altar of a god or godess after it was torn out of a victims chest OUCH! :o
the vivtim heart was offered to the sun god
I don't believe the Aztecs actually ate hearts. However, they did sacrifice people by cutting out their hearts while they were still alive. Apparently, the still beating heart was a great gift to the Gods! Another little fact is that they also thought that children were the best to sacrifice! The Aztecs may have been called 'heart-eating Aztecs' because, during war, the Aztec soldiers would capture the enemy. After the battle, the prisoners of war would be sacrificed. Seeing as how the priest only needed the heart for the Gods, the rest of the body was untouched. However, the Aztecs also believed it was customary for the person who caught the sacrifice to eat the rest of the body... which is maybe why the Aztecs were called 'heart-eating Aztecs'.
The Aztecs would first take a knife and open his stomach and rip out the heart and show it to the sun. then the priest would occasionally chop the head off for the god the sunthe aztec human sacrifice was they killed innocnet people for there empire and for there gods and goddesss the aztec human sacrifice was they killed innocnet people for there empire and for there gods and goddesss
