They couldn't get to work anymore because the wall didnt allow people from the east to commute to the west. They had to find a new job in the east.
There were all sorts of feelings. Some people wanted nothing more than to get out of East Germany. Other people loved being communists.

Berlin is where the wall that divided Germany was built separating Germany and also Berlin, once it fell they were back together but had some differences since they had lived separated by the wall, on place was nicer and the other was all messed up, and that's what they reffer to when talking to east or west Berlin.

November 9, 1989. Their were 2 reason for building the wall. 1. Economics. Too many well-educated people moved from East Germany, and some worked in West Berlin and lived in East Berlin (it's cheaper there), so DDR lost money on this. 2. Political. The West side interfered with the East side (the Russian sector).
It divided East and West Germany leaving many people separated from friends and family. The East Germans lived in a Russian controlled Communist country while the West Germans lived in a democratic country. The Russians ruled with an iron hand and regulated information, access to the country, and all of life of the East German people.
Because the Berlin Wall was built by the east German communist rulers to prevent east German people from escaping to the capitalist west.
