What kind of abuse was used during the Crusades?

A crusade is when a bunch of preist select the most attractive men of a village and take them back to there catheidrals for "special" training. Here they molest them and send them out to war afterwards so that they cannot tell anyone about it. Durning the trianing the would beat the soldiers and put muzzles over them so they could not resist. This is controversal as to the fact that this could have lead up to the way that preists act towards the alter boys today.

When did the feudal system decline?

I'm thinking that Feudalism declined at various times in various places throughout the world. Russia was largely Feudal even in the 20th century, for example. I think it depends on the growth of the middle classes, a differentiation between the Nobility and the Peasant, a middle ground which poorer people can aspire to by skill, hard work or even perhaps good fortune, the change of circumstances which alter society. Political emancipation and the broadening of the base in which Power is devolved has an effect, the idea of the masses having a say in their status as subjects is a very powerful one. In Britain this probably begins as a result of the English Civil War, power being taken from the King & the country ruled by Parliament, effectively a Republic. Not that Cromwell was elected en masse though ! But this made a great difference to the Crown, even though it was restored. Subsequently the adoption of George I as a German, with little affection towards Britain, resulted in further dilution & more devolved power. It created a power vacuum that the rising middle classes could not fail to fill.

Why didn't they bathe in Medieval Times?

Actually, they did bathe in the Middle Ages. The people believed that cleanliness was next to godliness and kept very clean. They also believed that bad air, with foul odors, carried diseases. They had public baths in many villages. Later, the Renaissance came. People discovered perfume and went into a period when the only parts of the body to get cleaned were the parts other people could see. They knew medieval people did not have perfume, and liked very much to describe the Middle Ages as inferior to their own, so they called the medieval people dirty and stinky. They convinced alter historians of their own superiority, and people still believe them.
